WOMAN ON WATER (WOW)

ABOUT WOW

NPYC Women on Water (WOW) in New Plymouth offers women of all ages and abilities an opportunity to learn more about sailing. We provide a supportive setting for everyone from first timers to more experienced sailors wanting to practice their skills or try out a new boat.

We offer regular boat handling and guided sailing sessions using the club boats, including Lasers, 420s, Elliots and Hartley 16s. Participants do as much or as little as they like, practicing rigging, crewing, helming, or just observing, followed by some socialising at the club. We aim for enjoyable excursions that help women obtain the skills and knowledge they need to sail with confidence. In time, we hope some will move up to owning or racing their own boats or joining the club.

WOMEN LEARN TO SAIL COURSES ARE BACK!
This year, we are offering courses on different dates. While the dates are being finalised,  please register your interest on the Adult Learn to Sail page
