We have been sailing off the rugged west coast of Taranaki since 1939. Located on Ngamotu Beach, we enjoy getting out in the wild weather that New Plymouth has to offer as well as socialising at the club.

We offer something for everyone, from junior and senior racing, to social events including games nights and tastings. New to sailing? We also have junior and senior learn to sail for those that are keen to get involved.

Kellan Casey had a great time at AIMS games this week. He enjoyed three days of racing and lots of sunshine. Day one had 10-15 knots, day two presented itself with strong winds, before dropping to 10 knots as racing started. Day three started very calm, but luckily racing got underway after a 2 hour delay. Kellan sailed in the Silver Fleet placing 28th overall, with an excellent 10th place finish in one race. Keep up the good work Kellan!

See you again on Opening Day Saturday September 26th, where you can 'have a go' at sailing for $25 (from 10am). Remember our four classroom sessions on Tuesdays in October are FREE.

Ryan O'Neill had a great time at the Yachting New Zealand National Clinic at Murrays Bay Sailing Club this weekend. He enjoyed sunny skies, 10-15knots of wind and learnt a lot.

We are proud to have one of our juniors be part of the National Youth Programme.

Ryan learnt to sail with us as a 9 year old in our plastic optis, enjoying the Rainbow Fleet, before moving into a fibreglass opti, then a starling and now sails an ILCA. He also sails a Farr 3.7, 420 and Elliotts.

🙏 Thank you to everyone who attended our QUIZ NIGHT! 🥳 It was such a fun evening led by the amazing quiz master Scott Hodges and his sidekick Frankie. Thanks to everyone in the background who ran the bar 🍸🍻, sorted the pizza 🍕, arranged the tables etc.

I'm sure we'll always remember that France (AND her tertitories - La France d'outre mer) has the most time zones (12) and Auckland was the capital before Wellington from (1841-1865)!

Ryan O'Neill enjoyed the Matariki Festival at Evans Bay Yacht & Motor Boat Club. Too much wind on day one for racing to go ahead. Day 2 brought 12-18 knots of fun sailing and then the last day had sunshine and light winds 5-10 knots. Well done for placing 1st and having so much fun Ryan!
