We have been sailing off the rugged west coast of Taranaki since 1939. Located on Ngamotu Beach, we enjoy getting out in the wild weather that New Plymouth has to offer as well as socialising at the club.
We offer something for everyone, from junior and senior racing, to social events including games nights and tastings. New to sailing? We also have junior and senior learn to sail for those that are keen to get involved.
Congratulations to the Francis Douglas Memorial College and New Plymouth Boys High School teams who travelled across to Taupō for the Secondary Schools Teams Racing Central North Island Champs. After 3 late starts due to low wind pressure, both teams got through 2 round robins with FDMC finishing 4th overall with 10 wins, and NPBHS in 7th with 8 wins.
Additional thanks to Tash Brassel from Taupō who ran an amazing regatta, and to New Plymouth RO Rob Oliver, Head Umpire Mark Hatch, and assistant umpires Caleb Birrell and Amelia Otto. As well as Ann Hatch on the finish boat, and the parents who supported the teams throughout the regatta.
